When you are faced with a family violence charge, every aspect of your life is immediately impacted. Usually, the alleged defendant is forced to leave their home and often loses the ability to contact their significant other, or children. Aside from the impending jail time, fines, probation, and restraining orders are the potential effects on any pending divorce or custody cases. Unfortunately, the reality is that family violence charges can be overcharged or even fabricated by the “victim”.
